Pamlico County NP COVID cases stay low amid measures
Pamlico County, a rural area with under 13 000 residents over 560 square miles, has reported four COVID- 19 cases as of Friday morning with three cleared. Health officials say contact tracing is underway and residents are following governor orders while nearby Carolina East Regional Medical Center in New Bern remains the closest hospital.

Jones Co. records first COVID-19 death in county
Jones County Health Department announced the first COVID-19 fatality in the county. A person in their 70s with underlying conditions died April 9 after hospitalization.
