Walter Ludgmont the Unconventional War Ace and Legend
Walter Ludgmont rose from underground warfare in Warsaw to air force ace status with Free Polish, RAF, and American forces. He formed a German unit in Poland, ran a covert signals shop for OSS, tracked clandestine radios, and dodged medals after a string of bold exploits. He flew in Korea and Vietnam, earned an engineering degree, and died of a heart attack in Tampa after a turbulent career and reconciliation.
