Ruth to stand trial in South Carolina for conspiracy

Former Englewood restaurant owner Stephen Ruth, a convicted drug smuggler, will stand trial in Marlboro County South Carolina on state conspiracy charges in October. He has been jailed since Oct. 12 after extradition from Alabama, with the trial set before Circuit Court Judge C. Anthony Harris. Ruth is serving a five year sentence for a Texas conspiracy to import marijuana and faces two more charges on top of this final South Carolina case.
