Venice man charged with armed robbery linked to weekend hit and run

Steen later faced armed robbery charges after an Englewood restaurant incident as Sarasota deputies impounded his Cadillac and Lake County deputies investigated a pancake house pursuit.

Ramar Construction reports 14 sections of split rail fence along Bird Bay Drive missing valued at 70. An 85 year old Venice man Charles Geher of 625 N Armada Rd was found dead in his garage from carbon monoxide poisoning. Authorities ruled the death a self inflicted action. Police were notified at 6 p.m. after a concerned neighbor said Geher had been despondent. Geher’s car had no gas, the engine warm, and a water pool formed beneath. No suicide note was found.

Nokomis Man Arrested After Parking-Lot Disturbance
Police said a Nokomis man fought with a Venice man in a park lot. The Nokomis man punctured the Venice man’s tire with a folding knife as a pit bull was returned to its owner. He turned himself in and was released after offering to pay for the tire damage.
