Police report a Tuesday rear end collision on the Venice Bypass involving Robert Floyd 29 and Jesse Parson 61. Floyd faces DUI and failure to use due care charges after his car struck Parson's at about 15 mph. no injuries reported.
A Venice man was charged with burglary after confessing to police he broke into his grandfather’s North Grove Street home through a rear window and stole a .38-caliber handgun and musical tapes.
Burglars forced entry at Huston's Television on 125 West Miami and fled with five televisions valued at $2,172 after an early morning burglary. Police learned of the break in Tuesday as suspects departed the scene.
Police charged Gregory Gullife 19 with burglary after responders found him inside a residence at 833 Cincy St Venice. Residents Nelson and Estelle Vose returned home and reported the in progress burglary.
Robert Beer, 25, of 519 Parkdale Mews, was charged with driving under the influence on Tarpon Center Drive after he ignored a police warning given earlier at the jetties.

A Long Beach man, Johny Horing, said he was struck by a van while waiting for a bus Sunday morning at the Venice bus depot. He suffered an elbow gash and a compound fracture and was treated at Venice Hospital emergency room.
Charles Reed 29 of Collins Road Laurel was charged Saturday at an apartment on Ponce De Leon in Venice. Beverly O Kelley 29 of South Nassau Street was charged Saturday after a disagreement at a local lounge.
