Venice Hospital loses cooling during new wing upgrade
Venice Hospital endured two days without air conditioning as the new wing’s cooling system was phased in. Public Relations Director Charlie Richards said some areas were uncomfortable but no patients were in danger. The shutdown affected old lines and temporary downtime, with restoration by Thursday afternoon and engineers planning no further interruptions. The expansion remains on schedule, adding beds, an obstetrical unit, post partum space, and new surgical and staffing areas.
