Students of the Month Named at Venice High School

Teresa L Ratjohns and Ian Brown were selected as Students of the Month by the Kiwanis Club of Venice. Teresa, top 10 percent senior active in NHS band Interact and student government, plans business studies and CPA aspirations. Ian, seventh in a 335 class, studies architecture at UF and earned church drawing credits while working 20 hours weekly at Venice Hospital.

Auxiliary hosts May Day party for 125 Arcadia patients

The American Legion Auxiliary held a May Day event for 125 patients at G. Pierce Wood Memorial Hospital in Arcadia with games, prizes, lemonade and cookies. 59 legionnaires and Auxiliary members from the southeast attended. Arcadia is among five state hospitals served by the auxiliary. They plan a Bay Pines cookout for 125 veterans on May 16.
