Two shoplifters fled ABC Liquors after a brief foot chase on Friday night. Police recovered two bottles of Chivas Regal scotch, a six pack of beer, and an automobile, with one suspect seen in a car in the lot and both suspects later escaping with two female companions. The car was impounded and officers questioned the women.
Jeffrey C. Fleissner 28 of 615 Lehigh Road escaped injury when his motorcycle skidded at 75 mph near Business 41 Venice. Police clocked him and charged him with reckless driving after the bike slid 120 feet onto a grassy median near U.S. 41.
Debra Lee Morris, 19, of 257 North Grove Street, Venice, was arrested Friday on a bench warrant for contempt of court after failing to pay a petty theft fine. Police pulled her over for driving without a license tag and for not producing a driver’s license.
Burglars stole 15 gallons of milk 14 dozen eggs plus apples and tomatoes from Venice Farm Market on Business 41 Saturday night. Grand Union managers restrained a man who drank cough syrup and refused to pay. Ray Pugh, 22, of 257 North Grove Street Venice, charged with petty theft.
