Laurel Road pit permits under review by county board
Sarasota County Commissioners will hold a public hearing March 31 to decide whether three pit operators along Laurel Road receive renewed borrow pit permits. The dispute centers on maintenance of a private road used by firms including Robert Rigby Trucking Englewood Trucking and Venice Fill and Shell with Rigby accused of neglecting road upkeep prompting other firms to cover maintenance and losses.
