Abduction at Oscar Scherer Park Sparks Search
A 15 year old Venice Girl Scout was seized from a tent at Oscar Scherer Park near Venice at 5 30 a m as three campers slept. The suspect is described as a white male about six feet tall in dark clothing. Over 60 officers searched the area while the girl’s companions cried for help. The abduction occurred as the group camped six miles north of Venice on U S 41.
