IRS to audit Florida tax returns under DIF system
The IRS will begin auditing selected Florida 1977 federal income tax returns within weeks using the DIF computer system to flag likely errors. Most audits are a fraction of total returns, with random checks and matches to W-2 and 1099 forms, and some audits led to extra taxes or refunds.
