Venice Council OKs 100 Percent Raise for Members and 75 Percent for Mayor
Venice City Council approved substantial raises for the council and mayor effective Oct 1. Council members will receive 300 a month and the mayor 350, reflecting a 100 and 75 percent increase respectively. The measure followed debate about attracting qualified candidates and noted past nonvoting on raises since 1972.
