Landscape firm opens in Sorrento East by Tomich and Sons
Matthew Tomich and Sons opens a Nokomis landscape design and construction firm at 126 Van Dyck Street Sorrento East. Tomich previously ran a landscape design business from 1958 to 1981 in Great Barrington Massachusetts under the same name. His sons Christopher and Peter are partners. Christopher recently earned a landscape architecture degree from the University of Massachusetts.

Street sweeping service opens in Venice by Dale Lusk
Dale Lusk owns Street Sweeper of Venice at 116 Oberlin Rd Venice. The truck mounted vacuum sweeping service for streets and paved areas opened in February. Lusk also runs a lawn care service and has past employment with Englewood Disposal Co 1978 to 1982 and Tom Riggs Construction Co 1974 to 1978. He has lived in Venice since 1974 and is a Pittsburgh native.

Estes elected VP of Florida hospital personnel group
Lon Estes was chosen vice president elect of the Florida Association for Hospital Personnel Administration on June 3 at Daytona Beach after a first ballot win. He leads Venice Hospital’s human resources unit since 1977 and previously directed personnel efforts at Allen Memorial Hospital and Washington Regional Medical Center. Born in Houston and raised in Harrison, he holds degrees from the University of Arkansas and heads the West Central Florida Hospital Personnel Directors Association.
