Recalled Tales of a Cadet and a Civil War Era Musket
The narrator recalls his Boy Scout days and a grandfather who called him a militia member and gifted him a Civil War era musket and saber. He later learns the grandfather served with the Texas militia after the war and that the artifacts were lost to a wartime scrap drive while the narrator went to war in 1941.
