Nelson eyes Southwest Florida seat in Congress
Dick Nelson, longtime aide and former chief of staff to Skip Bafalis, runs in District 19 for the U.S. House. He cites experience in Washington, plans to balance the budget, curb deficits, and back federalism while addressing crime and the water supply amid Florida’s growth. Nelson, a Naval Academy graduate and former Alabama supermarket executive, lives with his wife in Fort Myers and has three grown sons.
