Englewood Water District moves to $5 million government loan for third wellfield
The board passed a resolution to secure a Farmers Home Administration loan of 5 million dollars for a third wellfield with pipelines and storage tanks. Bids totaling 947,810 were accepted for wells, transmission lines, and monitoring wells. The loan agreement restricts encumbrance and allows government possession if default occurs. District director Bill Harlow says the project will service customers through late 1982, then alternatives or a costly reverse osmosis plant may be needed. Stevens and Layton Inc. bid 632,125 for transmission lines. Alsay Pippin Corp. bid 149,990 for drilling wells. Engineering Service Corp. bid 151,000 for controls. Assay Pippin Corp. bid 14,695 for 11 monitoring wells.
