Drought Pressure Prompts Venice Water Use Plan and Rules
In a response to statewide drought conditions, SWIFTMUD urged Venice to enact an emergency water usage ordinance to cut total system use by 20 percent by June 1. Venice officials report ongoing conservation but have not yet reached the target, as rainfall and groundwater remain low across southwest Florida.
