Gasparilla Island condo project shelved by developers
Charlotte Harbor Land Company withdrew its petition to build a 485 unit condominium on Don Pedro Island citing failed contingencies in the purchase contract. The plan drew opposition from Rotonda residents and environmentalists who argued it would harm the barrier island and threatened lawsuits if land was sold. The commission had scheduled a July 21 vote on the site plan.
