Sarasota County backs reclassifying Peace River as potable water
The Sarasota County Commission voiced support for SWFRPC's proposal to reclassify the Peace River as a potable water supply. David Burr cited a three year study linking 85 percent of Charlotte Harbor pollutants to the river and 50 percent to upstream phosphate dumping, urged countywide storm water retention, erosion control, improved septic monitoring, canal weed control, and streetsweeping.
