Redistricting Shifts North County Line and School Assignments
Sarasota county plans to move the North Creek dividing line to Blackburn Point Road affecting Osprey students and their schools. North Port students will switch to Venice Intermediate as seventh graders starting next year with a gradual phase in of more North Port Englewood students. Nokomis Elementary gains students from Curry Creek while Garden Elementary will be capped at 500 until the North Port Elementary School opens. Venice Elementary loses regular students but gains exceptional programs. Venice remains a transit hub for redistricting changes.
