Hicks to lead Venice Chamber at January banquet
Ronald C. Hicks, 45, president of Hicks Moving and Storage Inc., will be sworn in as president of the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce at the annual banquet January 16. A former Marine drafted by the Green Bay Packers, his aim is to run the chamber like a business and boost regional economic development through transportation, industrial growth, and youth business programs. He advocates input on I-75 accessibility, a Venice connector issue, and stronger bylaws including student board members and a focus on exposure with the slogan Its Good Business Doing Business with Chamber Members. Hicks has long lived in Sarasota County and previously chaired multiple groups.
