The 1983 Venice Hospital Lecture Series second program in Englewood area will be Monday at 3 p.m. in the American Legion building on South McCall Road with Dr. Sidney W. Holec discussing hardening of the arteries. The next session on January 12 will cover eye disease treatment with Dr. Douglas E. Williamson of the Venice Eye Clinic as speaker.

Venice area art enthusiasts can join Fran Beasley for a three day acrylic landscape workshop starting Wednesday January 12 with sessions January 19 and 26 from 930 am to 1230 pm. South County Peace Coalition forms in Venice and Englewood
Plans under way for a new world peace and nuclear disarmament group in Venice and Englewood. A preliminary steering committee has formed and the group is named the South County Peace Coalition. Organizers say it will work closely with the Coalition for Survival in Sarasota and the Englewood Venice chapter of Common Cause.
