Sea oat planting by 4-H club at Nokomis beach
Early sunlit morning at North Jetty Park Nokomis hosted 40 4-H members planting 700 sea oat seedlings to stabilize dunes. County horticulturist Pat Garner coordinated with Elva Farrell and volunteers forming a line to place mulch and seedlings beneath blue flags. The group ended with drinks and cheers, hoping to expand beach ecology projects in the future.
