Coast Guard Rescues Fishing Boat In Venice Bay
Gaylord Chick and 21 passengers aboard the Blue Seas were rescued after a faulty exhaust flooded the 59-foot boat with water near Fisherman's Wharf Venice. Two helicopters pumps from Clearwater and a Cortez station 41-foot rescue boat aided the operation. The Coast Guard responded after a 1:30 PM alert and by 2:30 PM the vessel was stabilized and drifting in.
