United Way boost from area developer aids 20 agencies
United Way of South Sarasota County receives a $1,000 donation from General Development Corporation. The gift helps 20 agencies including the Girl Scouts reach 90 percent of the 1981 goal, with North Port division surpassing its target. Campaign chair John S. Booth III notes the drive is in a critical phase as $97,276 is raised of $106,500. The effort seeks mobile home park residents’ support to reach 100 percent.
