Venice art league juried watercolor exhibition entries urged
Venice Area Art League asks members to submit juried watercolor exhibition entries on January 4 and 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Two entries are allowed. Judge is Joe B. Peyton of St. Petersburg, a Florida scene specialist and member of several art groups. Sponsors include United First Federal Savings and Loan and G.M. World Travel. Pat Ane Award honors Vee J. Hill. The league at 390 South Nokomis Avenue welcomes the public Monday through Friday 10 to 4 and weekends 1 to 4 with no admission charge.

Unusual Christmas Tree At Methodist Church Sparks Symbol Tour
Frances Spencer of Danville Kentucky originated a 1957 concept tree for a Methodist church using Christ monograms and symbols. The display features a dove, grape cluster, fish acrostic, Alpha and Omega staff, Lord's Supper imagery, Epiphany star, various crosses and monograms, and symbolic creatures like a butterfly and pelican.
