Manatee protection fines set precedent statewide
In Miami the owner of a 53-foot yacht paid 7000 to Save the Manatee under a plea deal after speeding through a manatee sanctuary on November 19. U S Magistrate Patricia Kyle ordered the penalty, waiving seizure of the vessel My Martha, marking the first such fine to the group.
