The Southeast Banking Corporation board approves merging its 19 affiliates and Southeast Banks Trust into Southeast Bank N A a $6.4 billion Florida bank effective December 30 1981. Harry H Bassett to retire as chairman June 18 1982 with Zwick Wolfe to lead both the corporation and bank. 115 Florida banking centers to offer larger loans up to about 40 million.

A $3 million Tandem Center complex across from Venice High School will rise on four acres. The three story two building project provides 55,000 square feet of offices with 1,000 to 27,000 square foot leases. Merrill Lynch and Pan American Bank plan first floor offices. Traffic will use Milan Avenue and Turin Street access.
