Safe pilfered at YMCA and court mistrial reported
A CETA worker allegedly stole 130 dollars from a safe at South County Family YMCA. Police found no forced entry. Separately, Houston judge declared a mistrial in a drug smuggling case involving Richard Curry and George Green after a week long jury deliberation. Curry and Green faced charges of conspiracy to possess and distribute marijuana and importation of large quantities. In Venice, 71 year old Henrietta Fording struck a motorcyclist, Thomas Colan, near Rialto Shopping Center. Colan was treated and released, Fording charged with failing to yield.
