Venice City Faces Grant Delays In Federal Review
The city learned via a DER letter on February 5 1982 that the January 15 deadline for grant documentation had passed and the 90 day period ended April 15. By June 9 the DER noted incomplete facilities planning and the city risked losing priority funding. by August and October talks with DEA continued, but the project was not ready. The city now seeks bids for effluent irrigation and system improvements, with a four month extension. The conflict is expected to prompt a December 14 Venice City Council meeting debate.
