Sarasota County to consider modified Venice borrow pit plan
Florida Mining and Materials Corp seeks a 2 acre excavation east of Venice after a January denial. The plan in Venice Farms near Keystone Road and Venice Avenue aims to raise bottom elevation above the water table and tweak fill contours to reduce drainage issues while addressing groundwater concerns and local truck traffic. Hearing set for 3 30 pm at the South County Courthouse Annex on South Tamiami Trail.
