Venice Police Recover Stolen Pitching Machine After Theft
Police arrest Mark Borden and Christopher Meyers both 20 after a routine patrol spotted them at Venice wellfield diamond four where a pitching machine missing from Chuck Reiter Field was found. The machine valued at about $1000 had been stored behind the field with an orange 100 foot cord. Debra Leaves reports her motel burglary at Motel 6 included $120 and a $240 camera.

Ring stolen from Venice beachgoer purse
A diamond ring valued at 300 dollars was taken from the purse of an out of state girl at Venice Municipal Beach while she swam with a new friend. She left the purse on a blanket for about 20 minutes and returned to find the ring missing. other jewelry remained.
