Red tide outbreaks spotty along Suncoast coastline
Spotty red tide persists along the Suncoast with readings ranging from 3,000,000 cells per liter last week to 120,000 this week. Mote Marine Laboratory reported fish kills in Sarasota Bay and Casey Key areas with Venice Beach largely spared. Lifeguards cleaned fish kills at several beaches and warn blooms shift with winds pushing organisms offshore.
