On August 27 the Italian American Club hosts a blood drive at the Venice Community Center from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Laurel O’Connor coordinates the drive seeking O positive and other blood types to replenish the supply.
Venice Hospital announces an Employee Benefits Fair on Friday August 13 from 7 30 a m to 6 30 p m in the new auditorium with two dozen booths. Insurance firms Blue Cross Blue Shield Travelers Variable Annuity Life and others join representatives from Manatee Junior College Nova University USF and the Social Security Administration. Compensation Manager Jean Juchnowicz says the event will have a carnival atmosphere with door prizes raffles and refreshments. A lecture is set for Thursday August 12 at 7 30 p m in Venice Community Center Room 6.
