Candace Herron daughter of Sam and Doris Herron of Venice has been named group product director at Hanes Hosiery Inc She joined as a marketing assistant in June 1977 and previously was product manager for the Hanes brand In her new role she oversees the Today’s Girl and Underalls brands and marketing services based at the Winston Salem North Carolina headquarters She holds a BA in government and sociology from Skidmore College and an MBA from Boston College.

The Venice Area Board of Realtors endorses Florida Senator Warren Henderson and Fred Burrall for state offices. Henderson, seeking district 25 reelection, drew a $1000 contribution. Burrall received $600 from RPAC funds. The group also backs Ted Ewing for Congress. Endorsement decisions await board review with public release expected early next week.

Erika Golden manages the latest Philly Mignon franchise at 609 S. Venice Bypass Sarasota. The three Sarasota area outlets are owned by Ray Sloan of Fairbanks Ohio. The Venice restaurant opened in July after May and June Bradenton openings. Golden also runs Dixie Lee franchises in Massena since 1970 and oversees five, plus owns the Laurel Motel in Massena.
