Nokomis Man Charged With Murder In Jetty beating
Stephen Kinsey, 19, of Nokomis is held without bond in Sarasota County Jail charged with murder. A crowd of 50 to 75 watched as Gerry Griffin, 29, was beaten at the Casey Key North Jetty after a dispute with a white two door Chevy. Griffin died of head injuries from a motorcycle helmet blow. Kinsey’s arrest followed witness reports and a later police check at the scene.

The property lies about 325 feet northeast of Midnight Pass Road and 800 feet southeast of Old Stickney Point Road. Written comments are welcome and plans are available for inspection. the hearing may continue as announced.
