Catholic Epiphany church histories Venice beginnings and growth
The Epiphany Catholic Church in Venice began in 1935 as a mission of St. Partha Sarasota under Monsignor Elslander. It started in a Gulf Theatre space with mass on winter Sundays and grew through a 1947 military chapel move, 1954 parish recognition, a 1980 dedication, and the opening of Epiphany School in 1959 with grades one through eight.
