Englewood burglaries rattle community. seven victims
The Charlotte County Sheriff's Department investigates a Friday night wave of burglaries in Englewood. at least seven residences and businesses were broken into with entry often via window screens or locked doors. Items stolen include $205 from Bookmark, $20 from Gentleman's Choice, a revolver and tools from Steven Adams's car. no suspects named.

Local woman sixth drowning victim in Venice area
Rhonda Duston a 55 year old Venice Gardens resident was found floating in her backyard pool by her husband and died in an accidental drowning. Deputies noted she slipped while circling the pool striking her head and arm on the pool edge before entering the water. The Burton home at 552 S Neponsit Drive is nearby.
