South County bus ridership rises as free rides end
Sarasota County Area Transit records show 771 riders the first week of fare collection and about 700 per week afterward on the Venice Englewood North Port route linking communities with downtown Sarasota. Officials expect a 25 percent ridership rise this fall despite crowding during peak periods.
