The Company Store in The Brickyard Venice, run by Mrs. Carle Whiteaker and Terry Brye, credits a bold gamble and shift to men's clothing and Levi's boots for its rise. They expanded from a plant store five years ago, built a local mailing list, and focus on 30 to 45 year olds with cotton fabrics and Western style. They faced startup challenges but maintained aggressive expansion and community ties to reach steady growth.
