Venice Hospital opens west wing in ceremony and tours
Venice Hospital celebrated the dedication of its new west wing with public tours. Hospital volunteers and the Venice Hospital Expansion Fund highlighted efforts to fund the expanded Intensive Care Unit and a new Englewood medical facility. The event showcased seven operating rooms and new sterile equipment, including a $110,000 cart washer.

Cecilian Society Names Merit Scholarship Winner
Vocalist Ann Marie Brinkman won the Cecilian Music Society Merit Scholarship after auditions. Judges were Dr Mary DeVermond Mrs Samuel Yett and Hal Sorensen. The Venice resident daughter of Mr and Mrs D B Brinkham studies at Manatee Junior College and plans to attend Florida State University in fall. She will perform for the Cecilians at the April meeting.
