North Port Jaycees announce a Little Miss and Mr. South County contest for ages three through five with a April 30 event date. Dress rehearsal is April 29. First place wins a $50 Savings Bond plus trophy. others earn ribbons. Entry fee is $5 per child with a voting system based on penny contributions. applications due by April 10.
The Venice Hi-Twelve Club will meet Wednesday April 7 at 11 30 a.m. at the Masonic Temple 118 E Venice Ave. Gene Reed will present a 1969 PGA Golf Classic film after lunch. All Master Masons are welcome. The group meets the first and third Wednesday each month.
The First Baptist Church of Venice hosts the Single Again ministry meeting on Saturday April 3 at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The program titled a biblical View of the single life invites all area singles to attend and refreshments will be served.
Deborah sets meets Venice Chapter of the Deborah Heart and Lung Association will gather Thursday April 1 at 3 p.m. at United First Federal on U.S. 41 Business across from Venice Hospital. The public is welcome.

The Suncoast Symphony Orchestra will present a special Monday Night at the Movies screening of Please Dont Eat the Daisies at the Venice Little Theatre on April 12. Tickets are $2 with proceeds benefiting the symphony. Doris Day, David Niven and Patsy Kelly star. Tickets available at The Paper Pad, from symphony members, or at the theatre box office.
