Des Moines July 27 The state executive council yesterday formally promulgated a net increase of 996719 in Iowa railroad property valuations, bringing the total assessment to 87 538 232. About half the rise stems from newly added mileage not previously taxed, with major boosts for the Q line Tracey to Oskalooosa and several trunk lines including Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul and Chicago Great Western. Some old mileage shifts offset a portion of the gain, while several railways such as Rock Island Illinois Central Burlington Cedar Rapids and Northern remain unchanged.
