Sumner Hosts Ceramic Show with Plaque Painting Demo
Several hundred attended the annual Ceramics Show at the Legion Hall Sumner sponsored by The Studio of Sumner. Warner Heyer directed student works and Phyllis Gierke led a plaque painting demonstration upstairs. Visitors voted on favorites with a Northeast Iowa Rock Club item show upcoming October 25 and 26 at the same Legion Hall.

School Hot Lunch Menu for October School Days
The menu lists daily lunch options from Monday October 13 to Friday October 17. Items include beef and noodles, Bologna, pizza, beef and gravy, and a teacher in service day on Friday. Milk, bread and butter, and fruit or dessert accompany each meal.
Fredericksburg Sets First Primary October Second
Fredericksburg will hold its first primary election on October 2 at the Municipal Hall from noon to 9 p.m. to select four men for two town council posts. Six candidates run: incumbent Donald Rowe Gene Aschenbrenner Harvey Hens tings Ronald Kerr John Mauch and Gene Nelson. Unregistered voters may sign up at City Clerk Arlen Mohr’s office or at the New Hampton courthouse.

Bull injures Fredericksburg woman in farm incident
Mrs. Russell Wendland of Fredericksburg was injured September 25 when a bull on her farm shoved her forward for several feet. The family dog distracted the animal, allowing recovery. She underwent surgery at St Marys Hospital Rochester Minnesota for a broken vertebra and multiple injuries and remains in intensive care. Also, after 25 years with the Nashua Volunteer Fire Department, Robert Gogg retires, the third generation to serve, following his grandfather who helped organize the department in 1904.

Sumner man named to head Farm Bureau election
LeRoy Brocka of rural Sumner was elected Tenet County Farm Bureau president at the annual meeting held October 4. Other officers named included Clayton O’Brien vice president Ron Leistikow secretary James Busch treasurer and several women’s officers. David Alexander of Plainfield resigns as voting delegate effective December 31 1975. Melvin Schwartz elected to serve out the unexpired term January 1 1976 to December 31 1977. Guests included Ken Hoppenworth Cecil Sieglaff and others as resolutions approved with minor amendments.
