Convention excursion fares to Milwaukee and St Paul

National Educational Association meets in St Paul in July 1890. Burlington Cedar Rapids and Northern Railway sells round trip excursion tickets from all line stations to Milwaukee and to St Paul with a $2 membership fee added. Tickets on sale July 1 to July 8 and extended return to July 20. Special trains and through coaches or sleeping cars available by request.

Northern Pacific Railway Advertises Northwest Route Reach

The Northern Pacific Railroad claims a near 2000 mile traverse of Minnesota North Dakota Montana and Washington as the only line to Jamestown Bis marck Miles City Billings Livingston Bozeman Missoula Cheney Davenport Palouse City Sprague Russellville Yakima Ellensburg Tacoma Seattle and most northwest towns. It markets the line as the shortest transcontinental route from St Paul and Chicago to Helena Butte Anaconda Deer Lodge Spokane Falls Walla Walla Dayton and Portland and the only through trains to any part of Washington. The railroad offers free colonist sleeping cars or Pullman tourist sleepers on second class tickets from St Paul. A ten day stop over on North Pacific Unast tickets at Spokane Falls and 125 Washington stations enables settlers to inspect the territory without paying local ticket costs. It urges buying tickets from St Paul or Minneapolis to save money and provides maps pamphlets rates and tickets via local agents.
