Memorial Day program to feature National Guard official
National Guard chief of staff Joseph Flatt of Winterset Iowa will speak at the Sumner Memorial Day observance on Monday May 30. Sumner council approves resurfacing and dust control contract
At a special meeting the Sumner city council awarded Highway Surfacers of New Hampton a 24,641 dollar contract for dust control at 22.5 cents per gallon for 16,000 gallons and resurfacing of several blocks of streets. 3,600 dollars covers dust control, 20,151 dollars covers 1,615 tons of asphaltic concrete, with the rest for manhole raises and lab work.
