Price support changes to bolster loan program and farmer flexibility
The Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation County Committee reports updates to the price support and commodity loan program. Changes include removing advance loan applications and extending loan maturity dates for several crops effective 1967 for 1966 crops to encourage loan redemptions and curb costs. Maturity dates for 1966 crops like corn, oats, and soybeans are unchanged for some, but others shift up to four months later, enabling producers to benefit from seasonal price increases.
