Area residents over 16 will receive a mailed survey about jobs and skills. Conducted with Iowa Employment Security Commission, the project aims to inventory local labor capabilities and guide recommendations. Results and a published booklet will be shared with communities and nearby firms.

Driver charged after T intersection mishap
A 13 year old John Nichols Jr was driving a 1959 Ford when it left the road and crashed into an embankment at a T intersection three miles west and a mile south of Sumner. He suffered arm fractures and facial injuries. He faced charges for lack of vehicle control and driving without a license. Deputy Sheriff Bill Westendorf filed the charges.
