The Sunset Theatre screens Mary Poppins Friday Saturday and Sunday April 19 20 21 with nightly shows at 7 90 o clock and a Saturday matinee at 2 pm Julie Andrews stars as Mary Poppins with Dick Van Dyke as Bert in the beloved musical. The re release marks a high point of Disney's fiftieth anniversary celebrations.
Sumner Chapter FFA members and guests will attend the 46th Iowa Leadership Conference at Davenport’s Masonic Temple from April 25 to 27. About 2,500 are expected. delegates include Ron Hartman and Joel Schlatter, with Dennis Winter, Tom Miller, and John A. Scott serving in officer or advisor roles.
Sumner City Council discussed sewer overloads caused by foundation and roof drains and planned an ordinance to ban such installations. Water hydrants will be flushed April 23 and 24. residents urged to stock water. Several community notices appeared along with liquor permit approval for The Other Place and talks on extending Howard Street in the Corkery Addition. The next meeting is May 7 at 7 30 p m.
