Memorial service held for Dr. Herbert Potratz
Memorial for Herbert August Potratz emeritus chemistry professor and associate dean at Washington University was held April 1. He died March 28 at St Luke’s Hospital from a heart attack at 72. He headed plutonium analysis for Los Alamos and taught at WashU from 1946 to 1971, later serving as an Atomic Energy Commission consultant. He held degrees from Illinois and Colorado and was active in AAAS and AIC. He is survived by wife, daughter, son, two sisters, two grandchildren.
